La. Admin. Code tit. 22, § I-783 - Forward [Formerly Section 373]
A. The "Disciplinary Rules and Procedures for
Juvenile Offenders" are established to help provide structure and organization
for the institution, and a framework within which the offender population can
expect the disciplinary system to function. They must be followed at all
juvenile facilities.
B. These
rules, regulations, and procedures may only be changed by the secretary of the
Department of Public Safety and Corrections.
C. In the event of a genuine emergency, such
as a serious disturbance disrupting normal operations or a natural disaster,
the secretary or his designee may suspend any and all disciplinary rules and
procedures for the duration of the emergency. Full hearings must be held within
a reasonable time after the end of the emergency for those offenders who were
subject to serious sanctions (those that would have been appealable to the
secretary under the provisions of these rules).
D. The pronouns "he" and "his" as they appear
herein are used for convenience only and are not intended to discriminate
against female employees or offenders.
