16- 163 C.M.R. ch. 3, § 14 - Ground Ambulance Vehicle Equipment Requirements
1. Aground ambulance service must possess, at
a minimum, the equipment listed in Chapter 17 of these Rules and must maintain
a system to ensure the availability of this equipment on any call.
A. All medical equipment and medical supplies
required must be latex free.
B.
Each ground ambulance vehicle must carry the equipment and medical supplies
listed in Chapter 17 of these rules.
C. The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) set
of equipment is the minimum set of required equipment for a Ground Ambulance
Service.
D. If a ground ambulance
service is licensed at the Advanced EMT or Paramedic level, any ground
ambulance vehicle of that service responding on an emergency medical call will
be equipped on those calls with the equipment and supplies required by these
Rules.
E. If a ground ambulance
service is permitted to a given level, it must possess at least one set of
equipment and supplies required for that level pursuant to these
Rules.
2. Upon request
of Maine EMS, a ground ambulance service shall make its equipment available for
inspection in order to ensure conformity with the Rules.
