A qualified hospital can enroll an individual in MaineCare if the hospital determines that the individual is likely eligible for coverage under the eligibility guidelines established in Part 3 and Part 4. If the hospital determines that the individual is presumptively eligible, the individual is eligible to receive Medicaid coverage immediately after the determination. This coverage is called "hospital presumptive eligibility."
