258 CMR 20.09 - Violations of Client Confidentiality Rights
(1) A social worker shall not, at any time,
disclose client records, or any communications or information obtained from or
pertaining to a present or prospective client, unless such disclosure is
authorized by M.G.L. c. 112, § 135 through 135B,
258 CMR 22.00, or other
applicable state and federal laws or regulations.
(2) It shall be a violation of this section
for any social worker to fail to inform a client, in accordance with the
requirements of
258
CMR 22.06, about the limits on the
confidentiality of client records and/or information obtained from that client
in the course of that professional relationship, as set forth in M.G.L. c. 112,
§ 135 through 135B,
258 CMR 22.00, or other
applicable state and federal laws or regulations.
