550 CMR, § 3.07 - In-service Training
(1)
Requirements. Law enforcement officers are required to
complete all components of inservice training annually. The training year will
start on July 1st and end on June
30th. Officers who graduate from the police academy
are not required to complete in-service training for the training year in which
they graduate.
(2)
Components.
(a) 40
hours of in-service training annually. Each year the Committee will determine
what curricula are to be taught and the manner of delivery to meet this
requirement.
(b) First aid and
cardiopulmonary resuscitation pursuant to M.G.L. c. 111, § 201.
(c) Annual MPTC firearms qualification and
training standards regardless of whether the agency issues weapons to its
officers.
(3)
Specialty Assignments. The Committee shall determine
what annual curricula shall be taught and delivered to officers who hold
specialized assignments.
(4)
Reporting. All law enforcement agencies are
responsible for providing the Committee with records of completion of any
training not offered by the Committee including, but not limited to, the title
of the training, name of instructor, course description, and date, location,
and hours of the training.
