Mich. Admin. Code R. 281.2209 - Application for title; investigation
Rule 9. The secretary of state may conduct a reasonable investigation to determine whether any 1 of the following exists:
(a) Information submitted in connection with
an application for a certificate of title or assignment of a hull
identification number is false or fictitious.
(b) A certificate of title has been
improperly issued.
(c) A purported
certificate of title is counterfeit or fictitious.
