Mich. Admin. Code R. 325.10725 - Radionuclides; applicability; monitoring generally; reporting
Rule 725.
(1) A community water supply, also known as "supply" in this rule, R 325.10726, R 325.10728, R 325.10729, and R 325.10730, shall monitor to determine compliance with R 325.10603 and report to the department under these rules.
(2) For the purposes of monitoring for gross alpha particle activity, radium-226, radium-228, uranium, and beta particle and photon radioactivity in drinking water, "detection limit'' is defined in Title 40 CFR ยง141.25(c), which is adopted by reference in R 325.10605.
(3) The department may require more frequent monitoring than specified in this rule, or may require confirmation samples, when the department considers it appropriate for the protection of public health or there is a need for additional sampling based on prior sampling results.
(4) Each public water supply shall monitor at a time designated by the department during each compliance period.
(5) If the MCL for radioactivity in R 325.10603 is exceeded, then the community water supply shall notify the department under R 325.10734.
