Mich. Admin. Code R. 325.12102 - Approval of chemicals and other materials
Rule 2102.
(1) Approval by the department is required for all chemicals, coatings or paints, proprietary products, and similar materials of any description, that are used or are proposed for use in, or in contact with, drinking water at any point in the waterworks system from the source to the ultimate point of distribution of the water.
(2) The public water supply shall determine that approval for a chemical or material has been granted by the department and determine the special conditions or limitations under which that approval was granted.
(3) All chemicals or components that may come in contact with water intended for use in a public water supply shall meet ANSI/NSF standards 60 and 61, as adopted by reference in R 325.10112.
