Mich. Admin. Code R. 325.22212 - Medical control authority; appeals
Rule 212.
(1) A
medical control authority shall incorporate procedures for the appeal of
decisions made by the authority against a life support agency and emergency
medical services personnel. Once appeals to the medical control authority have
been exhausted, the decision made by the medical control authority may be
appealed to the statewide emergency medical services coordination committee. An
appeal to the emergency medical services coordination committee must be filed
with the department in writing not more than 30 calendar days following
notification to the agency or individual of the final determination of the
medical control authority. The emergency medical services coordination
committee shall issue an opinion on whether the actions or decisions of the
medical control authority comply with the department-approved protocols of the
medical control authority and the code.
(2) If a decision of the medical control
authority is appealed to the emergency medical services coordination committee,
the medical control authority shall document their decision to the statewide
emergency medical services coordination committee for their review.
