Mich. Admin. Code R. 325.45171 - Administrator
Rule 171.
(1) The
governing body shall appoint one individual who is responsible for managing the
health facility or agency, including but not limited to the following duties:
(a) Directing all day-to-day
activities.
(b) Ensuring the
implementation of all policies and procedures.
(c) Ensuring regulatory compliance.
(2) For a hospital, this individual
shall be the Chief Executive Officer.
(3) For a nursing home, this individual shall
be a Nursing Home Administrator licensed pursuant to part 173 of the code, MCL
333.17301 to 333.17319.
(4) This
role may be delegated, in writing, to another qualified individual as needed to
assure continuity of operations and in accordance with the health facility or
agencys policy.
(5) If a licensed
nursing home administrator is also licensed as a registered professional nurse,
and the nursing home has less than 50 licensed nursing home or long-term care
beds, then the nursing home administrator may also serve as the director of
nursing.
(6) As used in this rule,
"nursing home" does not include a hospital long-term care unit or an extended
care services program, commonly known as a swing bed
program.
