Mich. Admin. Code R. 325.45231 - Patient rights and responsibilities; policies and procedures
Rule 231.
(1) A
health facility or agency shall develop, adopt, implement, post, and distribute
written policies and procedures to protect the rights and responsibilities of
patients as provided in sections 20201, 20202, and 20203 of the code, MCL
333.20201, 333.20202, and 333.20203.
(2) Before a patients admission, and if
requested after admission, policies and procedures related to rights and
responsibilities must be made available to all of the following:
(a) The patient.
(b) The patients guardian.
(c) The patients representative.
(3) Information transmitted to a
patient, or to the person legally responsible for the patient, must be in a
manner that he or she can reasonably be expected to
understand.
