Mich. Admin. Code R. 325.45377 - Admission and medical examination
Rule 377.
(1) A
patient shall only be admitted to a nursing care facility on the order of a
physician. The order for admission and immediate care may be accomplished
through a hospital transfer summary signed by a physician, paperwork signed by
the patients physician, or other written form signed by a physician.
(2) An initial medical examination of a
patient by a physician must be completed within 30 days of the admission
date.
(3) Routine medical
examinations of a patient are required at least every 60 days after the date of
the initial medical examination.
(4)
Subsequent routine medical examinations may alternate between being completed
by the attending physician and a physician assistant or a nurse practitioner at
the direction of the attending physician.
(5) The frequency of additional medical
examinations of the patient, beyond the initial and routine medical
examinations, must be determined by the attending
physician.
