Rule 447.
(1) The design and shielding specifications for an accelerator shall be submitted and approved before issuance of a license by the department. After construction and installation, the radiation safety of the installation shall be established by a protection survey conducted in accord with Rule 221. A written report of the initial survey shall be submitted to the department and approved in writing before continued operation of the accelerator.
(2) Each accelerator installation shall be provided with such primary or secondary barriers as are necessary to assure compliance with Rules 203, 205, and 211.
