Mich. Admin. Code R. 338.3627 - Handling fee
Rule 27.
(1) A
participating pharmacy or charitable clinic may charge the eligible participant
receiving a donated drug a handling fee, not to exceed a maximum of 300% of the
medicaid standard pharmacy dispensing fee as established by the Michigan
department of community health, to cover stocking and dispensing costs,
provided that the handling fee does not exceed the total cost of obtaining the
drug outside the program.
(2) A copy
of the medicaid drug dispensing fees can be obtained from the Michigan
department of community health, 201 Townsend Street, Lansing, Michigan 48913 or
on the departments website at

(3) A prescription drug dispensed through the
program shall not be eligible for reimbursement under the medical assistance
program.
(4) The eligible
participant shall not be charged a handling fee if the eligible participant is
receiving a professional sample which is distributed to patients at the same
charitable clinic whom are ineligible for the program without a handling
fee.
