Mich. Admin. Code R. 338.503 - Prescription drugs and devices; return or exchange for resale prohibited
Rule 3.
(1)
Prescription drugs or devices that have been dispensed and have left the
control of the pharmacist must not be returned or exchanged for
resale.
(2) This rule does not apply
to any of the following:
(a) A pharmacy
operated by the department of corrections or under contract with the department
of corrections or a county jail, as provided in section 17766d of the code, MCL
333.17766d.
(b) A pharmacy or
charitable clinic that participates in the program for the utilization of
unused prescription drugs, as provided in section 17775 of the code, MCL
333.17775.
(c) A pharmacy or health
facility that participates in the cancer drug repository program, as provided
in section 17780 of the code, MCL 333.17780.
(d) Drugs returned when the wrong medication
was dispensed to the patient or in the instance of a drug recall. Subject to
R 338.486(7), in no
instance may returned drugs be reused or returned to active stock.
