Mich. Admin. Code R. 390.1133 - Professional teaching certificate
Rule 33.
(1) The
superintendent of public instruction may issue a professional teaching
certificate to an applicant who has paid the applicable evaluation fee if the
department has received documentation of all of the following:
(a) The applicant successfully completed 3
full years of classroom teaching as described in R 390.1103.
(b) The applicant completed the reading
requirements of section 1531(3) of the act, MCL
380.1531.
(c) The applicant completed a minimum of 6
satisfactory college semester credit hours of literacy instruction for a
certificate with an elementary level endorsement or a minimum of 3 satisfactory
college semester credit hours of literacy instruction as appropriate to the
discipline area for a certificate with another endorsement. The applicant may
have completed this course credit at any time before applying for the
professional teaching certificate.
(d) Subject to section 1233(6) to (8) of the
act, MCL 380.1233, since the issue date of
the most recent standard teaching certificate, the applicant completed a
combination of education-related professional learning hours totaling 150
hours.
(2) An individual
who meets the requirements of this rule may apply for a professional teaching
certificate at any time.
