Mich. Admin. Code R. 400.18106 - Projects affecting outside configuration of building, site plan and specifications; bureau of fire services or local fire authority specifications; fire safety measures during construction
Rule 106.
(1)
Before construction begins for projects that involve construction, addition, or
remodeling that affects the outside configuration of a building, and as part of
the building plans and specifications otherwise required by these rules, the
licensees or licensee applicants designated architect, engineer or construction
manager shall provide the bureau of fire services and the local fire authority
with a site plan and specifications that detail all of the following:
(a) The available water supply.
(b) Hydrant locations.
(c) Vehicle access routes.
(d) Fire lanes.
(2) The bureau of fire services or local fire
authority may specify any of the following:
(a) The size of the water mains that supply
the hydrants.
(b) The location of
hydrants.
(c) The locations and
dimensions of fire department vehicle access routes.
(d) The posting of fire lanes.
(3) As soon as possible during
construction, the adult foster care facility shall ensure that appropriate fire
safety measures shall be taken, including the provision of fire extinguishers
and fire suppression systems and the establishment of access routes to the
building that can be traveled by fire department vehicles.
