Mich. Admin. Code R. 400.1935 - Firearms
Rule 35.
(1) All
firearms must be unloaded and properly stored in a secure, safe, locked
environment inaccessible to children during hours of operation or while
children are in care at a child care home. A secure and locked environment
means a locked commercial gun safe, or a trigger lock installed and locked
according to the manufacturers recommendations to prevent discharge.
(2) Ammunition must be stored in a separate
locked location inaccessible to children during hours of operation or while
children are in care at a child care home.
(3) Firearms must not be traded or sold on
the premises during hours of operation or while children are in care.
(4) Law enforcement officers who are required
to keep their firearms loaded and ready for use at all times, may do so, as
long as the firearm is inaccessible to children.
