Mich. Admin. Code R. 400.8830 - Instructional swim
Rule 830.
(1)
Instructional swim must be conducted under the supervision of a qualified water
safety instructor (WSI), who is certified by the American Red Cross, in an
organization such as the YMCA or YWCA, and where instructional swim is part of
the organized program.
(2) The
child care staff member-to-child ratio under R 400.8222(3) must be maintained.
The instructor shall not be included in the ratio.
