Mich. Admin. Code R. 400.8840 - Swimming activity area
Rule 840.
(1) All
swimming areas must be maintained in a clean and safe condition.
(2) A public pool used for swimming must be
inspected by the local health department and issued a license by the department
of environment, Great Lakes, and energy.
(3) The water at a public or private beach
must not be used if determined unsafe by the local health department.
(4) A working phone must be accessible on the
premises.
(5) All of the following
safety equipment must be readily accessible:
(a) First aid kit.
(b) Rescue pole or throwing rope and ring
buoy.
(c) Signaling
device.
(6) The use of
hot tubs, residential pools, and private wading pools is prohibited.
