Mich. Admin. Code R. 408.10574 - Maintenance
Rule 574.
(1)
The following maintenance shall be performed, when required, during the 30-day
inspection:
(a) Replacement of any worn or
defective parts noted during the inspections prescribed in
R
408.10572.
(b) Electrical connections shall be tightened
and controller contactors and relays shall be cleaned.
(c) Gears, shafts, bearings, brakes, and
hoisting drums shall be aligned.
(2) Hoisting ropes shall be reshackled at the
non-drum ends at least once every 2 years. In reshackling a rope, enough shall
be cut from the end to remove damaged or fatigued portions. The rope shall be
retagged and the limit switches reset, if necessary.
(3) Hoisting rope shall be replaced when
there are 6 or more broken wires in any 1 lay or when the wire rope becomes
damaged or is in a deteriorated condition.
