Mich. Admin. Code R. 408.10664 - Ramps
Rule 664.
(1)
A ramp may be a component in a means of egress when it conforms to the
requirements of this part. A ramp which is constructed after June 15, 1990, and
which is less than the minimum measurements prescribed in this rule shall not
be considered as an approved part of a means of egress.
(2) A ramp and the platforms and landings
associated therewith shall be designed for not less than 100 pounds per square
foot live load.
(3) The slope of a
ramp shall not vary between landings. A landing shall be level and the changes
in direction of travel, if any, shall be made only at landings.
(4) A ramp in a building that is more than 3
stories in height shall be made of noncombustible construction. A ramp floor
and landings shall be solid and without perforations.
(5) A ramp shall have a nonslip
surface.
(6) A ramp shall have a
minimum width of 44 inches and a maximum slope of 1 inch in 12
inches.
