Mich. Admin. Code R. 408.11234 - Fuel gas manifolding
Rule 1234.
(1)
Fuel gas connected to 1 manifold inside a building shall have a total gas
capacity of not more than 3,000 cubic feet (85 cubic meters approximately) or
11.8 cubic feet (.33 cubic meters) of liquefied gas, which is 735 pounds (333
kilograms) water capacity. More than 1 manifold unit may be located in a room,
but the manifolds shall be not less than 50 feet (16 meters) apart or be
separated by a noncombustible barrier not less than 5 feet (1.6 meters) high
having a fire-resistance rating of 1/2 hour.
(2) Fuel gas capacity on 1 manifold of more
than 3,000 cubic feet (85 cubic meters approximately) or 11.8 cubic feet (.33
cubic meters) of liquefied gas, which is 735 pounds (333 kilograms) water
capacity, is permissible in a separate room or compartment, as specified in
R
408.11222(8), or located outside the
building.
(3) The pressure in the
gas cylinders connected to, and discharged simultaneously through, a common
manifold shall be approximately equal.
(4) Manifolds shall be approved either
separately for each component part or as an assembled unit.
