Rule 1904.
(1)
"Jib" means an extension attached to a boom point to provide added boom length
for lifting a specific load. A jib may be in line with the boom or offset to
various angles.
(2) "Load rating"
means the rating in pounds established by the manufacturer in conjunction with
R
408.11923 and is dependent on such factors as
anchorage, structural competence, rope strength, and hoist capacity.
(3) "Locomotive crane" means a rotating
superstructure with a power plant, operating machinery, and boom mounted on a
base or car equipped for travel on a railroad track. It may be self-propelled
or propelled by an outside source.
(4) "Mobile hydraulic crane" means a crane
using a hydraulic means of powering some of the basic crane
functions.
(5) "Reeving" means a
rope system in which the rope travels around drums and sheaves.
