Mich. Admin. Code R. 408.12013 - Safety factor for hoisting cables; wire rope
Rule 2013.
(1)
The designed safety factor for the hoisting cable on a hot metal crane shall be
not less than 8 and on any other crane or monorail system shall be not less
than 5.
(2) Wire rope, with an
independent wire rope core, shall be used on all molten metal applications and
in an area where the environmental atmosphere will cause deterioration of a
hemp center.
