Mich. Admin. Code R. 408.12132 - Modifications
Rule 2132.
(1)
An employer shall not install an additional counterweight without written
assurance from the manufacturer of the truck that the truck will meet the
stability requirements of ANSI standard B56.1 "Safety Standard for Low Lift and
High Lift Trucks" 1993 edition, as adopted in
R
408.12111.
(2) An employer shall not make other
modifications affecting capacity or safety without written approval of the
manufacturer or an engineer knowledgeable on the subject. Capacity, operation,
and maintenance instruction plates, tags, or decals shall be changed
accordingly.
(3) If the truck is
equipped with front end attachments, the name plate shall be marked to show all
of the following:
(a) Identification of the
attachments.
(b) The approximate
weight of the truck and attachment.
(c) The load capacity of the truck and
attachment combination at maximum elevation of the load engaging means with
load laterally centered.
