Mich. Admin. Code R. 408.15261 - Nailers
Rule 5261.
(1)
A hand-held, power operated nailer or stapler shall be equipped and maintained
with a safety switch at the point of operation as well as a finger control
switch.
(2) An automatic nailer or
stapler shall have the point of operation guarded or enclosed to within 1/4
inch of the material.
(3) Where a
nailer or stapler has more than 1 operator, each operator shall be supplied
with a control which shall be activated concurrently or the machine will not
operate.
(4) A foot control shall
be provided with a cover or guard to prevent accidental activation. The
construction of the cover or guard shall be as prescribed in General Industry
Safety Standard Part 23 "Hydraulic Power Presses," as referenced in
R 408.15209.
