Mich. Admin. Code R. 408.18159 - Pulverizers
Rule 8159.
(1)
A belt drive used in connection with a pulverizer shall be grounded to remove
static electricity.
(2) Pulverizing
equipment shall be dust tight. Electrical equipment and motors located in the
room or area shall be dust ignition proof, class II, division I type.
(3) A magnetic separator shall be installed
at the material inlet to a pulverizer.
(4) When there are multiple pulverizers and
the final pulverized material is pneumatically conveyed, each conveyor system
shall be independent of the other and electrically grounded to reduce the
likelihood of fire or explosion.
