Mich. Admin. Code R. 408.30402 - Title
Rule 402. Sections 101.1 and 101.3 of the code are amended to read as follows:
101.1.
Title. These rules shall be known as the Michigan building code, and referred
to as "the code."
101.3. Intent. The
purpose of the code and the act is to establish the minimum requirements to
provide a reasonable level of safety, public health, and general welfare
through structural strength, means of egress facilities, stability, sanitation,
adequate light and ventilation, energy conservation, and safety to life and
property from fire and other hazards attributed to the built environment and to
provide a reasonable level of safety to firefighters and emergency responders
during emergency operations. The act takes precedence over all provisions of
the code.
