Rule 527.

Section M2001.1.1 of the code is amended to read as follows:

M2001.1.1. Standards. Oil-fired boilers and their control systems shall be listed and labeled in accordance with UL 726. Electric boilers and their control systems shall be listed in accordance with UL 834. Solid-fuel-fired boilers shall be listed and labeled in accordance with UL 2523.

Boilers shall be designed, constructed, installed, and maintained in accordance with the requirements of ASME CSD-1 and ASME boiler and pressure vessel code, Sections I and IV, except part CE-110(a) of the CSD-1. Gas-fired boilers shall conform to the requirements listed in chapter 24. It shall be the homeowners responsibility to maintain and operate the boiler in accordance with ASME CSD-1.
