Mich. Admin. Code R. 408.7078 - Voltages permitted in hoistway or on car
Rule 78. Section 24.3.1 of the ANSI A10.4 standard is amended to read as follows:
24.3.1 The maximum system or circuit
potential permitted on any equipment in the hoistway or on the car shall be not
more than 600 volts. If the potential exceeds 120 volts, then either a
grounding conductor shall be incorporated in the traveling cable or a separate
grounding conductor shall be installed. A visual indicator shall be included in
the grounding circuit, so arranged as to indicate continuously the continuity
of the grounding conductor. The type and size of the grounding conductor and
the grounding fastening means shall conform to the requirements of the Michigan
electrical code. The grounding circuit shall include a device which will
interrupt the electric circuit to the load if a ground fault
occurs.
