Mich. Admin. Code R. 408.30501b - [Effective 8/29/2025] Intent

Rule 501b. Section R101.3 of the code is amended to read as follows:

R101.3. Intent. The purpose of this code is to establish minimum requirements to safeguard the public safety, health, and general welfare through affordability, structural strength, means of egress facilities, stability, sanitation, light and ventilation, energy conservation, and safety to life and property from fire and other hazards attributed to the built environment, and to provide safety to fire fighters and emergency responders during emergency operations. The Stille-DeRossett-Hale single state construction code act, 1972 PA 230, MCL 125.1501 to 125.1531, takes precedence over all provisions of this code.
