Minn. R. agency 144, ch. 4731, SPECIFIC DOMESTIC LICENSING OF RADIOACTIVE MATERIAL, pt. 4731.3540 - TYPE B SPECIFIC LICENSE OF BROAD SCOPE
An application for a Type B specific license of broad scope shall be approved if the applicant:
A.
satisfies the general requirements under part 4731.3070; and
B. has established administrative controls
and provisions relating to organization and management, procedures, record
keeping, material control and accounting, and management review that are
necessary to ensure safe operations, including:
(1) the appointment of a radiation safety
officer who is qualified by training and experience in radiation protection and
who is available for advice and assistance on radiological safety matters;
and
(2) the establishment of
appropriate administrative procedures to ensure:
(a) control of procurement and use of
radioactive material;
(b)
completion of safety evaluations of proposed uses of radioactive material that
take into consideration such matters as the adequacy of facilities and
equipment, the training and experience of the user, and the operating or
handling procedures; and
(c)
review, approval, and recording by the radiation safety officer of safety
evaluations of proposed uses prepared according to unit (b) before use of the
radioactive material.
