Subpart 1.
Goals.
A mining operation shall be designed, constructed, and maintained so that the operation is compatible with surrounding nonmining uses.
Subp. 2.
Requirements.
Requirements:
A.
Naturally existing terrain and vegetation, or vegetated mine waste which appear
similar to natural terrain shall be used to minimize problems such as: noise,
dust and chemical air pollutants, view, mine traffic, access, and
erosion.
B. Buffering shall be
implemented prior to beginning operations in a portion of a mining area that
needs buffering.
C. Buffers may be
constructed within the setback areas described in part 6130.1200, item H
provided their primary purpose fulfills item A.
