13 Miss. Code. R. 9-4.1 - Policy
(a) It is the policy of the Commission that
pari-mutuel betting on sporting events is materially different from other types
of gaming and that the public health, safety, morals, good order and general
welfare of the inhabitants of the State of Mississippi require stringent
regulation of pari-mutuel wagering in accordance with applicable law,
including, but not limited to the Interstate Horseracing Act; accordingly,
licensees operating pari-mutuel wagering facilities on sporting events and
races are required to comply with the following regulation in addition to the
previous regulations of Part 9, and to any regulation applicable to gaming
licenses in general.
