18 Miss. Code. R. 14-13.1 - General Rule
A. An able-bodied adult without dependents
(ABAWD) is an individual age 18 but under 55 years old without minor
dependents. Per the Fiscal Responsibility Act of 2023 (FRA), the
age-based modification exception will sunset on October 1,
2030.
B. SNAP eligibility
for ABAWDs is limited to (three) 3 countable months during any 3-year (36
months) period.
C. However, an
ABAWD meeting the work requirements, or an exemption is not subject to the time
limits.
D. Individuals may be
eligible for up to (three) 3 additional months.
E. MDHS must inform all ABAWDs of the ABAWD
work requirements and time limits orally and in writing.
