18 Miss. Code. R. 14-4.13 - Processing Timeframes
A. The seven (7)
day timeframe begins the day after the application date.
B. Do not delay issuing expedited benefits if
the household has applied for other programs still pending.
C. For households entitled to expedited
service, benefits must be made available to the recipient no later than the
7th calendar day after the application is filed.
Note: To ensure timely issuance of the EBT card, the card, if
needed, must be requested on the day of application or the day of the interview
so the participant has access to benefits by the 7th
day.
D. If there is a late
determination for expedited services, the processing timeframes will be
calculated from the date MDHS discovers the household is entitled to expedited
service.

Note: Do
not include mailing time as part of the processing timeframe when the
application is returned to the household for a signature following a phone
interview. Mailing time only includes the days the application:
1. Is in the mail to and from the household,
and
2. With the household pending
their signature and mailing.
F. Households not eligible for benefits the
first month of application, but eligible the second month qualifying for
expedited service, must have benefits issued:
1. Within seven (7) days of the application
date, or
2. The first day of the
second month, whichever is later.
