19 Miss. Code. R. 7-7.01 - Promulgation and Purpose - General
A. These Rules and
Regulations for the Mississippi Fire Prevention Code (MFPC) are promulgated by
the State Fire Marshal of the State of Mississippi in accordance with the
International Fire Code (IFC) as published by the International Code Council
formerly the Southern Building Code Congress International, Birmingham,
Alabama, and the Mississippi Administrative Procedures Act, Miss. Code §§
25-43-1, et seq., as amended, and
shall become effective after adoption and are promulgated in accordance with
the provisions of the Mississippi Administrative Procedures Act, Miss. Code §§
25-43-1, et seq.
B. The purpose of these Rules and Regulations
is to prevent the loss of life and property from fire and other related hazards
through direct action and implementation, interpretation, and enforcement of
the Mississippi Fire Prevention Code.
