Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) is a progressive neurological, debilitating disease that belongs to a family of diseases known as Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathies (TSEs), or prion diseases. CWD attacks the brains of infected animals, causing the animals to become emaciated, display abnormal behavior, lose bodily functions and subsequently die.
