A. Medicaid does not cover local
infiltration, metacarpal/ metatarsal/ digital blocks, or topical anesthesia
outside the specific surgical procedure performed.
B. Medicaid covers the cost of drugs used for
IV sedation and must be billed with the appropriate HCPCS code
