23 Miss. Code. R. 209-1.43 - Trapeze Bar/Equipment
Medicaid covers trapeze bars/equipment for all beneficiaries when prior authorized by the Utilization Management and Quality Improvement Organization (UM/QIO), the Division of Medicaid or designated entity, for rental up to purchase amount, or purchase when indicated and when ordered by a physician and one of the following criteria is met:
A. A trapeze bar or freestanding trapeze
equipment when a beneficiary has truncal or lower extremity weakness and needs
this device in order to rise to sit, change body position, or get in and/or out
of bed.
B. An attached trapeze bar
when it is either an integral part of or used on a hospital bed, and it has
been determined that both the hospital bed and the trapeze bar are medically
necessary.
C. A freestanding
trapeze only when used with a non-hospital bed. The beneficiary must not be
renting or own a hospital bed.
