25 Miss. Code. R. 102-5.3 - Cost of burial
In the case of eligible veterans, there will, generally, be no cost.
A. U.S. Department of
Veterans Affairs burial plot allowance will be paid to the MVMC.
B. Headstone (upright white marble) or niche
cover (as appropriate) will be provided by the U.S. Department of Veterans
Affairs.
C. In accordance with U.S.
Department of Veterans Affairs regulation/policy, an eligible veteran may only
receive a one-time burial allowance and headstone benefit. In the rare case
where this benflit may have been previously exhausted, the next of kin or
responsible party (as appropriate) will be responsible for any incurred
cost(s).
D. There will be a minimal
cost for the burial of eligible spouse and/or dependents. Cost, consistent
actual cost incurred, shall be determined and approved by the Board.
