28 Miss. Code. R. 305-2.10 - Sexual Harassment
A. MSPA respects each of its employees, and
will not tolerate any form of sexual harassment in the workplace. Accordingly,
MSPA will not permit conduct or language that creates an intimidating, hostile,
or offensive working environment for other employees. This includes, for
example, repeated offensive or unwelcome sexual flirtations, advances,
propositions, continual or repeated verbal abuse of a sexual nature, graphic
commentaries about an individual's body; sexually degrading words used to
describe an individual; and the display in the workplace of sexually suggestive
objects or pictures.
B. Sexual
harassment does not refer to occasional compliments of a socially acceptable
nature. It refers to behavior which is not welcome, which is personally
offensive, and which therefore interferes with work effectiveness.
C. MSPA employees are employed and advanced
on the basis of their performance and qualifications, not on their gender or
reaction to romantic or sexual advances.
D. Any employee who violates this policy will
be subject to appropriate discipline, up to and including discharge. Any
employee who believes he or she is being subjected to sexual harassment or
other forms of inappropriate conduct should contact his or her supervisor or
the HRO. If the complaint is against the employee's immediate supervisor, then
the employee should request a meeting with the supervisor's next higher
authority. No employee will be retaliated against for bringing sexual
harassment to the attention of management.
