30 Miss. Code. R. 1801-3.1 - Requirements
A. Any person to be qualified to receive a
certificate of registration as a barber instructor must be twenty-one (21)
years of age or older, must be of good moral and temperate habits, must be able
to read, write and speak English; must possess a high school education or
equivalent; must have successfully completed not less than fifteen hundred
(1500) hours at a barbering school approved by the State Board of Barber
Examiners; must hold a valid certificate of registration to practice barbering;
must have not less than two (2) years of active experience as a registered
barber; must have successfully completed not less than six hundred (600) hours
of barber instructor training at a school approved by the Board and must have
passed an examination conducted by the Board to determine his fitness to
practice as a barber instructor.
B. Instructors must be qualified to teach
fundamentals of barbering and keep abreast of new trends and developments.
C. Faculty members must have
personal characteristics conducive to effective teaching and exemplify
desirable behavior (dress, habits, attitudes, and interpersonal relationships).
D. Instructor must file evidence
every two years of having attended workshops, seminars, r formal classes
relating to teaching or to new techniques in barbering. Continuing education of
26 hours of approved credit per year is required.
