30 Miss. Code. R. 2101-8.10 - Disinfecting Electric Clippers and Metal Instruments
Instruments which cannot be sanitized by the procedures set forth in Rule 809 will be disinfected by:
A. Thorough cleansing of the working parts of
the instruments with soap and water or other detergent immediately after each
use, and prior to disinfection, so as to remove all foreign material which
might harbor bacteria.
B. Immersion
of the working parts of the instruments in a solution of 70¢ alcohol for
not less than five minutes. Contact points of non-immersible equipment will be
wiped or sprayed with an EPA registered, hospital grade, bactericidal,
virucidal and fungicidal disinfectant.
