31 Miss. Code. R. 2-12.32 - Procedure
1. If an offender requests information about
his or her record by telephone, the MSOR staff first informs the offender of
the MSOR website address. If the offender does not have access to a computer,
the staff instructs the offender to submit the request in writing. Upon receipt
of the written request, the staff records the request in the offender's file
and prints the Public Flier from the offender's record in the MSOR. The flier
is mailed to the offender making the request.
2. If the offender requests to view his file,
he must submit the request in writing. Upon receipt of the request, the MSOR
Director responds by letter scheduling a time and location to meet at the
Department of Public Safety headquarters. The offender is required to provide
personal identification information, including a set of fingerprints, at the
meeting. The prints are checked to verify his/her identity. The offender is
then allowed to review the contents of the file in his presence of the MSOR
Director or other designated Departmental employee.
