33 Neb. Admin. Code, ch. 1, § 001 - Purpose

The purpose of these rules and regulations is to establish requirements for the purchasers of slaughter livestock registered with the director pursuant to the Nebraska Livestock Sellers Protective Act. Such registrants are required to provide the director with assurances of their financial ability to faithfully and promptly account for and pay to the sellers with whom they deal, the total proceeds from the sales of slaughter livestock, except where such assurances are preempted by the Federal Packers and Stockyards Act of 1921, as amended, and the regulations adopted thereunder.
