N.H. Admin. Code § Lab 1403.41 - Noise Exposure
The employer shall ensure compliance with the following requirements:
(a) Protection against
the effects of occupational noise exposure shall be provided when the sound
levels exceed those shown in Table 3, Permissible Noise Exposures. Feasible
engineering or administrative controls shall be utilized to keep exposure below
the allowable limit.
(b) When
engineering or administrative controls fail to reduce the noise level to within
the levels of Table 1400.1, personal protective equipment shall be provided and
used to reduce the noise to an acceptable level.
(c) Exposure to impulsive or impact noise
should not exceed 140 dB peak sound pressure level.
