N.J. Admin. Code § 12:90-8.6 - Eligibility for high pressure boiler operator's license
(a) To be eligible
for a high pressure boiler operator in charge examination, the applicant shall:
1. Be able to comply with
N.J.A.C.
12:90-8.4; or
2. Have had intensive training for six weeks
in a program established by the Chief Engineer and approved by the Bureau of
Boiler and Pressure Vessel Compliance, within five days of starting the
training period. A log shall be established with the licensed operator doing
the training, which shall be one-on-one, and the trainee shall have written
verification of such training from the chief engineer. Any training commenced
prior to the approval by the Bureau of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Compliance,
with the exception of that encompassed within the five day approval period,
shall not be credited toward the six week intensive training program.
(b) If the applicant has had six
months experience as a licensed low pressure boiler operator, the three months
required in N.J.A.C. 12:90-7.4 may be reduced to 30 days.
(c) To be eligible for a special license up
to 100 horsepower, an applicant requires 30 days experience with such
equipment.
