N.M. Admin. Code § 8.314.7.9 - SUPPORTS WAIVER HOME AND COMMUNITY-BASED SERVICES
A. New Mexico's supports waiver is designed
to provide temporary assistance to those on the developmental disabilities (DD)
waiver wait list. It is intended to provide support services to eligible
recipients to enable work toward self-determination, independence,
productivity, integration, and inclusion in all facets of community life across
the lifespan. The services provided are intended to build on each eligible
recipient's current support structures through person-centered planning to work
toward individually defined life outcomes, focusing on developing the eligible
recipient's abilities for self-determination, community living and
participation, and economic self-sufficiency. An eligible recipient has a
choice of receiving services through the agency-based service delivery model or
the participant directed service delivery model.
B. The program is operated by the New Mexico
department of health developmental disabilities supports division (DOH/DDSD),
at the direction of the New Mexico human services department medical assistance
